When we set up back in 1990 the aim of the company was to produce an exceptional product which would sell entirely on its own merit. 20 years later the ethos is unchanged and we remain a manufacturing rather than a marketing company; the bats are a real product, not merchandise.
Fortunately Salix bats are used by many talented players, with or without our knowledge and/or endorsement and we continue to attract interest and acclaim from both the industry and the press. But crucially the bats remain in demand from the schoolboy cricketer who bats brilliantly with his Pod harrow, or the league player who consistently scores during his weekend matches with his new Præstantia… the bats don't just look the part, they really do play and inspire players using them.
Professional players will always have access to top bats, regardless of which brand endorses them or what rumours abound, and the heritage brands will not equip their players with anything less than the best available. As we do not have to pay international players to use Salix, we try to ensure that every bat is exceptional, and that professional quality is the bench mark for all Salix bats, whether made as a bespoke fitting, or bought from a specialist stockist.
